Raffle Information: SCI Alaska Chapter has teamed up with two great Outfitters on Afognak Island to offer this amazing all-inclusive hunt brown bear hunt that includes the Alaska Governor’s Afognak Island Brown Bear Permit. Please Note: The Governor’s permit are exempt from the 4-year waiting period required for all brown permits in the Kodiak Island Archipelago and the Alaska Peninsula the areas known to hold the largest costal brown bears in the world.

Season Dates: October 25, 2025- November 30, 2025, or in accordance with hunt dates to be published in the 2025-2026 Alaska Hunting Regulations on July 1, 2025.

Alaska Residents: Can choose to receive a $25,000 check instead of a guided hunt and in-field transportation.

This raffle package includes:

1. A 10 Day fully guided 1×1 brown bear hunt. $35,000.00
2. The Alaska Governors Afognak Island Brown Bear Permit. Please Note! This permit includes DB161-163- Afognak/Raspberry/Shuyak/Marmot Islands.  See the hunt permit maps included in the raffle page below!
3. A $4,500.00 minimum guide and camp help tips! Good service deserves recognition. We hope that the winner will join us in recognizing those who have worked hard to make their hunt a memory of a lifetime!
4. Sitka blacktail deer hunting for you and 1 guest, which includes 1 blacktail buck each. License and tags included.  $9,000.00
5. A Christensen Arms Traverse .375 H&H rifle, topped with Leupold’s VX-6HD CDS-ZL2 1-6x 24mm obj. 30mm tube illuminated fire dot reticle rifle scope and 5 boxes on ammo. MSRP $4,600.
6. Swarovski 10×42 EL range binoculars MSRP $4,000.
7. Transportation to/from the town of Kodiak to the field.
8. Hunting license and locking tag fees!
9. A check for $5,000 to cover commercial flights and expenses.

 Afognak/Raspberry/Shuyak/Marmot Islands Brown Bear permits SB161-163. Permit winner will receive: Complimentary hunting license for the season, big game locking tag and the hunt permit.

Legal Animal: One (1) brown bear, except cubs or females accompanied by cubs. If a bear is wounded, no other bear can be pursued in Game Management Unit 8 for the rest of the regulatory year.

Hunter Requirements: This hunt is available to Alaska residents and nonresidents. Non- Resident brown bear hunters are required to hunt with a registered hunting guide or a family member of second degree of kindred (father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse, grandparent, grandchild, brother or sister-in-l a w, s o n – or daughter-in- law, father- or mother-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepsister, stepbrother, stepson, or stepdaughter).
